Planning & Zoning Department

Duties & Responsibilities

The Planning and Zoning Department of Allendale Charter Township provides a variety of services to preserve and enhance the high quality of life offered to those who work and live here through:

  • Land Use Planning
  • Zoning Ordinance Enforcement


This department also serves as support staff to the Planning Commission, Construction Board of Appeals, Zoning Board of Appeals, and Township Board.

Building Permits
*Professional Code Inspections (PCI) issues all permits and does all inspections for building, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing permits. PCI can be reached at 616-667-8803 with any questions, to speak to an inspector, or to speak to an inspector.
Zoning Compliance Permits
*Just a reminder that you do need a zoning compliance permit for fences, sheds, agricultural buildings, and running a business from your home. Please contact the office for information on these permits.
