The Clerk’s office may have special hours during Election season.
Township clerks are often at the forefront of government-citizen interactions, and they play a significant role in ensuring transparency, accessibility, and efficiency in local government operations. The Clerk is a voting member of the Township Board of Trustees and maintains meeting minutes and official records including all board decisions. The Clerk is responsible for cemetery administration, notary services, facilitating all Freedom of Information requests, license administration, elections, voter registration, publications, community communications, and budget preparations for various departments.

To report any complaints or a solicitor without a valid license, please contact Ottawa County Non-Emergency at 616-994-7850. This is often the quickest way to have a deputy respond and contact the solicitation company directly. If you are able, please also make Jody Hansen, Clerk, and Elizabeth Szymanski, Deputy Clerk, aware of your complaint. We actively work with companies to help ensure they are in compliance with township ordinance.
